(SMYRNA, TN) The three Rutherford County Rotary Clubs will meet Saturday morning, Nov. 9, 2019, from 9:00AM until 2:00PM for the 1st Annual "Rotary Builds" Habitat Panel Build at Gilsville Family Center, 413 Nissan Dr., Smyrna, TN.

The event is hosted by Gil's Ace Hardware and will include over 100 volunteers from the Rotary Club of Smyrna, Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary and the Murfreesboro Rotary Club.

Murfreesboro Rotary President John Hinkle noted, "Habitat is so much like Rotary's 4 Way Test, plus this Panel Build is a perfect match to the club's motto Service Above Self." The Murfreesboro Club just celebrated its 100th anniversary.

As the walls are built, they will be used to construct a Habitat for Humanity house right there in the parking lot! This exciting event marks the first time that all three Rotary Clubs are coming together for a common mission of building affordable housing for Rutherford County residents.

"The Rotary Club is very excited about our joint efforts to support Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity and their mission to provide affordable homes to our community", states Bobby Hopkins, President, Rotary Club of Smyrna.

The walls will eventually be moved to RCHFH's new Legacy Pointe subdivision community on Twin Oak Drive in Murfreesboro, and construction will start in the Spring of 2020 for the house for Future Homeowner Makeitha, who will also be on hand during the Panel Build. In addition to seeing the walls laid out and "touring" the house with Makeitha, volunteers will write words of encouragement and congratulations on the wall studs. The event includes a BBQ lunch provided by the J. Harmon Home Team and a tailgating party so volunteers can watch the Saturday football games on a large screen.

The event will end about 2:30 p.m. with a group photo with volunteers prior to loading the walls for transporting to Legacy Pointe. The house construction will then be sponsored by Nissan USA.

This is an exciting event with lots of opportunities for photos, video and interviews! Homeowner Bio and photos are available.

About Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity

Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit, non-denominational Christian housing ministry, seeks to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. This is done through building quality, energy-efficient, affordable houses while partnering alongside working families. Homes are built by RCHFH construction staff, Future Homeowners, and community volunteers. After a home is completed, it is sold to the family at no profit with an affordable monthly mortgage.
