Smyrna's New Town Engineer Is On The Job

(Smyrna) Smyrna Town Manager Brian Hercules announced that the new Engineer Charles N. King took over in that new position last week (11/4/2019).

Hercules noted, "Smyrna is a rapidly growing community. It is essential that we have a civil engineer dedicated to serving our community with vision. Charles' education and experience will allow him to effectively lead our engineering department in maintaining and growing our infrastructure."

Prior to joining the Town of Smyrna, King served as a Senior Project Manager with Collier Engineering Company, where he worked with cities and counties to address transportation needs. King began his career with the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer. During his time with TDOT, Charles worked in bridge design, traffic forecasting and statistics, traffic engineering, maintenance, and state aid.

Graduating from Vanderbilt with a degree in Civil Engineering, King is excited to serve his community in this role.

He concluded, "I am a proud resident of Smyrna. This is a progressive community that remains a small town at heart. I look forward to the opportunity to serve in this capacity."
