During Thursday nights City Council meeting, councilmen will hear from the Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department. The sewer department is proposing $67.5-million worth of projects. Some of the items the money would help to pay for include a new pump station at the Old Fort Park and the expansion of the waste water treatment plant. Apparently, the current waste water treatment plant is operating at above 100-percent of its designed capacity, according to a recent article in the DNJ. The projects would raise the cost of the average water and sewer bill by $15.51 in five years. The bills would be raised annually in $3 and $2 increments.
