According to the Murfreesboro City Council agenda for tonight, a public hearing will be held in regards to the proposed city budget. The budget rings in at $117-million. According to what has been proposed, no property tax increase will be required for the budget to pass. City property taxes have not been raised in 14-years.

The meeting will be this evening at 7:00 in the City Hall council chambers.

One of the items on the agenda includes a salary increase for eligible workers. That increase is proposed to be 3.5%. Councilwoman Madelyn Scales Harris would also like to see a 2% pay increase for employees who have topped out in pay.
