Four Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department units responded to a lightning strike at Stoneridge Farms at Hillwood located at 210 Hillwood Boulevard around 7:00 o'clock Thursday evening (7/5/2012).
Upon arrival, there was no fire present. Lightning struck a dormer of Building 6 and ran into the roof line, leaving two softball sized holes in the roof. Ladder 9 set up the aerial and checked the roof for fire, while Engine 1 checked for fire in the attic. No fire was found.
The strike charred and melted electrical wires, knocking out the alarm systems of Building 6 and Building 15.
No one was injured.
