Captains Michael and Patrishia Knott have made it to Murfreesboro to lead the Salvation Army. They're taking over for Majors Joe and Melissa Irvin, who received a new command in Anderson, South Carolina.
The Knott's have been married for 33-years and officers with the Salvation Army for the past 13-years. Murfreesboro is their fifth appointment and their first in Tennessee. Their other appointments have been in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
The Knott's will be Bryan Barrett's guest on Rutherford Issues on Tuesday (July 7th) at 10:35am.
Trish was a CPA and controller for the OKC Art Museum and then controller for Absentee Shawnee Tribe – specifically the Internal Auditor for their casino and other operations. Moms in Prayer and prison ministry is what led to my calling to serve in The Salvation Army.
Michael has a Bachelors in Music Education and Bachelors in Music Performance and taught band in public school for a few years. Then received his degree in Funeral Services and Reconstruction, as well as, a certified Embalmer. He was drawn into The Salvation Army through the annual Kettle program.
The Knott's have three children, Ashley, age 27, who is currently in her third year of Vet School at St. George University in Grenada, West Indies. Matthew, age 23, just graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (our alma mater) with a BS in Technology Engineering. He is still in Oklahoma working for Gore Nitrogen. He is engaged to be married this November. Samantha, age 14, will start 9th grade this year at Riverdale High School. She loves volleyball, dance and being a teenager.
