Oakland defeated Riverdale Friday night 39-14 to reach the semifinals for the seventh year in a row.

After a scoreless first quarter, Oakland struck first with a 5-yard Jordan James touchdown, his first of three on the night. Taking advantage of a fumble and penalties, the Patriots would score twice more to take a 20-0 lead to halftime.

Riverdale got on the scoreboard late in the third on a Marcus Lloyd 1-yard plunge for the only score in the third quarter.

Oakland took a lot of time off the clock on the ensuing drive, which took the game to the fourth quarter and with 8:32 to play, James found the endzone.

But the Warriors weren't done as quarterback Jameson Holcomb found Lloyd on this pass:

It didn't take the Pats long to put it away, with just under 5-minutes to play:

Oakland would add another score late for the 39-14 final.

Pats QB Ian Schlacter was 8-of-20 passing for 237-yards and three touchdowns. James had 21-carries for 96-yards, two rushing touchdowns and a reception for a TD.

Holcomb was 11-of-19 for 102-yards and a touchdown. Lloyd had 16-carries for 89-yards.

With their win, the Patriots will host Maryville Friday night. It's the seventh year in a row these two teams have met in the semifinals. The Rebels are 4-2 in these games, but since 2016, the host team has won the contest.

WGNS will have coverage Friday night beginning at 6pm with a 7pm kickoff. This marks the 26-time in 27-years a Rutherford County football team has reach at least the semifinals.
