You can expect two rounds of severe weather today (May 4, 2021) in Rutherford County, along with surrounding communities, according to the National Weather Service.
The first bout of weather issues will occur throughout the morning continuing through mid-morning. During the morning hours, the National Weather Service warns of severe thunderstorms and the risk of high winds in excess of 40mph.
The second round of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected late this afternoon (Tuesday) and into the evening hours. Meteorologist are calling for damaging winds and localized flooding, due to heavy rainfall. There are also reports highlighting the possibility of small hail with isolated tornadoes.
