Murfreesboro Rotary Begins 102nd Year

(MURFREESBORO)  The Rotary Club of Murfreesboro began its 102nd fiscal year at the Stones River Country Club by honoring several members. MTSU’s Dr. Gloria Bonner was sworn-in as the new president of this civic organization that was founded in 1919.

Outgoing President Phil King was honored for achievements during the pandemic year including continuing its participation in two Habitat for Humanity events—the panel build and Habitat’s Cooking to Build, continued contributions to Polio Plus to end the disease worldwide, creating from scratch a ‘virtual’ Hotcakes & Holly pancake breakfast, continuing relationship with Read to Succeed, contribution to backpacks stuffed with food for the Murfreesboro City Schools and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford County, a part of the Better Business Bureau’s Shred Day event.
