It's Time to FALL BACK! Set Clocks BACK 1-Hour

Nov 05, 2021 at 10:07 am by WGNS

FALL BACK--yep, it's time to return to regular time. When you hit the sack Saturday (11/6/2021), turn your clock BACK one hour. For example, if you go to bed at 10:00 o'clock, change the time on your clock to 9:00PM. In other words, FALL BACK (it's fall).

Although the Tennessee General Assembly has looked at the issue of proclaiming year-around Daylight Savings Time, they have never mustered enough votes to get the bill passed.

Many Baby Boomers remember the switch to daylight savings time during their summers in the 50s and 60s. That is when many think the concept began. In reality, time change goes back 1784 when an American inventor, Benjamin Franklin, sparked the idea. He jokingly suggested the change as a way to reduce the waste of candles.

It was a little over a hundred years later (1895), when New Zealand scientist George Hudson made a serious presentation. And on April 30, 1916, daylight savings time came into being.

In the 1970's, the energy crisis made the concept "routine" in the U.S. and the world.

So it's fall, and the reminder is to FALL BACK (take off one hour).  In Spring, you SPRING FORWARD (add an hour).

This Sunday morning (11/7/2021) we FALL BACK at 2:00AM. Remember to do that, or you'll be off schedule for church.
