If you had a living Christmas tree this year, don't place it in the landfill. Instead take it to a recycling location where it will be ground into mulch.
Since it will be made into mulch, that means all decorations, ornaments, lights--everything--must be removed from the tree before it is dropped off.

Murfreesboro Solid Waste Facility (4765 Florence Rd.) on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:30AM – 3:30PM.
Smyrna
Lee Victory Memorial Park (110 Sam Ridley Parkway) 6AM – 10PM daily
La Vergne
La Vergne Public Works (148 International Blvd.) 7AM – 5PM daily to mid-January
