Our guest on Monday (10/03/2022) was Thomas E. Stoquert, a Re-Entry Specialist with the American Job Center on Old Fort Pkwy in Murfreesboro, TN.  Also a Veteran, his passion is to help local Veterans through the AJC with resumes, job search and whatever other kind of assistance they can offer.  They are connected to many Veteran causes and efforts around our county, but more than that, they help anyone who is seeking employment and have several opportunities for listeners!

Some of the Topics Covered:

  1. Computer Classes - every Wednesday from 11am to 12pm
  2. Resume Classes - every Wednesday from 12pm to 1pm
  3. Job fairs in their front lobby - every Thursday from 9am to 1pm
  4. Their website, Jobs4tn.gov which currently has approximately 400,000 jobs listed and updated daily
  5. Re-Entry which is a program they have for Justice Involved Individuals, includes a number of resources at the AJC for those individuals, including expungement fairs - they help with both in Rutherford County and Wilson County.
  6. They are hosting an Expungement Clinic in Wilson County at The Journey Church, 1240 Leeville Pike, Lebanon on 10/06/2022 from 3pm to 7pm for anyone with convictions in Wilson County.
  7. The AJC will host and partner job fairs in other locations as well.  Recently had job fairs/hiring events at the Stones River Mall and even had one a few weeks ago at Lanes Trains and Automobiles (LTA) on Butler Dr. in Murfreesboro, TN. 
  8. The AJC acts as a community partner for employers seeking employees and they help employees connect with employers at various events and in one-off situations, depending upon the scenario.  They also partner with communities in other ways and attend several functions, such as Resource Fairs where the AJC can assist with Re-Entry and have programs that can assist with paying for certain trainings under the Workforce Innovation Opportunities Act (WIOA).  If an individual is determined to qualify, the AJC can offer them tuition paid training and assistance through these Federal grants.
