There is another scam alert for Middle Tennessee residents to be aware of... Terry Bell, the Warren County Executive, said that citizens began receiving emails that appeared to be from the County Executive's office in McMinnville, Tennessee on April 27th. The email requests that the receiver purchase gift cards from various businesses for the county. Whoever is sending the email also requests the recipient to later meet them in person, suggesting the in-person visit will be for the county office to pay the resident for the gift card.

The emails appear on the surface to look official and to be from the county, until you take a closer look at the email address. According to Warren County officials, the emails are being sent from an email address that reads: Myor4287@gmail.com. Federal authorities have been made aware of the situation and the Warren County Executive is asking that residents not respond to the con-artist. Bell also said, "At no time will the County Executive or Warren County Government attempt to solicit any citizen in this fashion." County officials also say that if you receive such an email, you can report it to the FBI online at https://complaint.ic3.gov/. You're also asked to call the County Executive at 931-473-2505 if you get an email from the unknown conman.
