Did you Know?

The story goes that April Fool’s Day began in the 1500s when France changed its calendar so the New Year would begin in January (to match the Roman calendar) instead of at the start of spring. However, many people in rural areas didn’t get the message and they continued to celebrate the New Year in the spring – they soon became known as “April Fools.” From that point on, jokes were played on them and they were mocked on or around the old New Year.
