MURFREESBORO, TN - Detectives are asking for assistance in identifying two persons of interest in a shoplifting case. According to Murfreesboro Police, the alleged theft that is being investigated occurred at Walmart on Memorial Boulevard this past Saturday morning around 10:30 AM (November 4, 2023).
Authorities say two unknown subjects entered the store and proceeded to fill several plastic bins with clothing, household items and wine. The merchandise was then reported to have been loaded into two separate shopping carts. After the carts were filled, the duo allegedly left the store without paying for the goods, according to police.
After the man and woman walked out of the store, they were confronted by a loss prevention worker. And while the worker was unable to detain the possible shoplifters, the employee was able to retrieve the retailers merchandise.
MPD detectives have released photos that were captured on security cameras at the stores entry/exit. One of two pictures show a female exiting the store wearing form fitted gray pants, a black and gray athletic jacket and black tennis shoes. The photo also confirmed the woman was pushing a shopping cart filled with items that were believed to have been gathered in the store. In the second photo, a man wearing a white ball-cap, black shirt and jeans can also be seen pushing a shopping cart out of the store. The cart contained, among other items, what appeared to be a trashcan.
So far, the man and woman have not been identified and were labeled by police as “Persons of Interest.” Police are asking, “If you know the identities of these persons of interest, please contact Detective Aaron Gonzelez (629) 201-5638.”
