(MURFREESBORO) The African American Heritage Society of Rutherford County unveiled a historical marker at 10:00 o'clock Saturday morning (1/13/2024) at the Rutherford County Courthouse.
AAHSRC President Mary Watkins said, "We desire to honor and recognize the journey, successes, struggles and failures of African-American people. A thorough understanding of this information will enable us to appreciate the foundations that our history has given us."
The Mission of the African American Heritage Society of Rutherford County is to discover, preserve, teach, share the heritage and history of African-Americans in Rutherford County, Tennessee.
