Metro Nashville detectives are pursuing leads in the murder of 62-year-old Jorge Insignares from Murfreesboro, who was found shot to death Monday morning in the front passenger seat of his parked white Lincoln Town Car on Jonquil Drive near Benita Drive in Nashville.

The parked car was first seen by neighbors on Jonquil Drive early Monday afternoon.

This investigation thus far has revealed that Insignares and his wife, Harriette, drove to Nashville from their Murfreesboro home at midday Monday.  Harriette Insignares told detectives that Jorge dropped her off at the front of the H & R Block office at Welshwood Drive & Nolensville Pike.  He was to have joined her after parking, but never did.  Harriette Insignares arranged for a ride home.  She reported her husband missing to Rutherford County authorities Monday.

Detectives are working to identify the person(s) Insignares encountered after dropping off his wife.  The scene strongly indicates that someone other than Insignares drove the Town Car to Jonquil Drive.  Robbery may have been the motive.
