FedEx Truck Blaze 3PM Tuesday on I-24

Murfreesboro, TN - A FedEx truck caught fire on I-24 near Joe B. Jackson Parkway on Tuesday afternoon (8/13/2024). The call came into 911 around 3:00 o'clock, and once authorities were on-the-scene, it was obvious that eastbound (toward Chattanooga) traffic needed to be re-routed. As shown in the T-DOT camera, the fire was at the 84 mile marker.

Once firefighters extinguished the blaze, the contents of the truck were put on the roadside to prevent reigniting the blaze. 

Traffic was detoured onto highway 41-70.

The wreckage was cleared and the road returned to normal by early evening.
