The Center for Disease Control reports that one out of every nine babies are born premature in the United States. With that statistic in mind, TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, Tenn., will open a new NICU center at their hospital. The new unit will help care for premature and critically infants during their first days, weeks and sometimes months of life. You can tour the new unit and meet the specially trained staff this Thursday, May 16 during their open house between 4pm and 6pm.
