Bobbie Hayes OK in Readyville
WGNS News spoke with longtime WGNS employee Bobbie Hayes just after the stormed passed through Readyville on Saturday afternoon (3/15/2025). She was still in her "safe room", and said that although her newly constructed home was not finished, it made it through this storm and never shook. As you recall, on April 1, 2024, an EF2 tornado devestated the small community on the Rutherford-Cannon County line. Bobbie's 98-year old home in which she was born, was destroyed. In the two-years that followed, she was conned by unlicensed contractors. At least, they built a structure that withstood this storm. Her insurance company forced her to move into that incompleted home.
She said, "God watched over me again today. Even my dog, Spot, relaxed in the floor of our Safe Place."
Bobbie was full-time on the WGNS staff for almost 40-years, and still helps in some areas.
