MANCHESTER, TN — A mysterious death is under investigation after the body of a Florida woman was discovered in a Coffee County field earlier this month.
Aleah Carnley, the daughter of 40-year-old Allecia Wolfe—also known as Allecia Carnley—reported her mother missing in Orlando on July 11, 2025. Just three days later, Wolfe was found deceased in a field behind the Truckers Inn motel near I-24 in Manchester, Tennessee, roughly 20 minutes southeast of Murfreesboro and more than 600 miles from her home.
“As we were filing a missing persons report, I got a knock on my door from a cop telling me she was deceased,” Carnley shared in a statement that was posted on a GoFundMe page. The daughter is currently raising funds to help cover the unexpected expenses of a funeral service and burial following her mother’s untimely death. “We are all heartbroken and need help paying for her funeral expenses,” she said.
Authorities say there were no immediate signs of trauma to indicate a cause of death, but the case is being treated as a homicide. Carnley said, “It was a mysterious death and there’s an investigation going on to determine what happened.” Investigators are now working to piece together how and why Wolfe ended up in Tennessee, where she had no known ties.
Coffee County District Attorney General Craig Northcott told partner station WMSR that the death is still being investigated as a homicide, as there are circumstances that suggest that it is.
Friends of the deceased in Florida reportedly told family members they saw Wolfe getting into a black sedan in the days before her body was discovered. Detectives have not released further details but are asking anyone with information to come forward as they continue to unravel the circumstances behind this tragic case.
