Rutherford County, TN — August 19, 2025 – Residents across Rutherford County and much of Middle Tennessee are bracing for another sweltering day as heat index values could climb as high as 107 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. A Heat Advisory remains in effect until 7:00 PM tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025). Officials urge residents to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours.
While a light breeze may offer momentary comfort, forecasters say it will do little to ease the oppressive heat.

Looking Ahead - The heat wave continues into midweek, with Wednesday’s high expected at 94 degrees. While no advisory is in place yet for Wednesday, the National Weather Service may issue another alert if conditions worsen.

Safety Reminder - Health officials recommend drinking plenty of water, avoiding alcohol and caffeine, and checking on vulnerable neighbors, especially the elderly, children, and those without air conditioning. Pets should also have access to shade and fresh water throughout the day.
