UPDATED: Serious-Looking Crash on Memorial Boulevard Results in No Life-Threatening Injuries

UPDATED - MURFREESBORO, TN — WGNS received multiple inquiries about a two-vehicle crash on Sunday, August 17, 2025, that some witnesses described as appearing “extremely serious.” While initial reports raised concerns, officials later confirmed there were no life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened during the day on Memorial Boulevard at the Maple Street intersection, near Blue Coast Burrito. Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department crews responded to the scene, where one victim was entrapped inside a vehicle. Fire officials stated, “All injuries were non-life-threatening.” A passerby told WGNS the wreck looked, “Devastating.”

Fire crews worked quickly to extricate the trapped motorist, and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services transported patients to Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital for treatment. Responding MFRD units included Ladder 4, Rescue 4, Safety 2, and Battalion Chief 2.
