MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for a raw sirloin beef tip product because it contains sesame and wheat that are not declared on the label. FSIS is alerting consumers with sesame or wheat allergies to avoid eating the affected product. A formal recall was not requested because the items are no longer available for purchase. What’s affected

How the issue was found - A retailer discovered packs with the correct front “Sweet Heat” label but an incorrect back label for “Garlic and Ginger Sirloin Beef Tips,” which does not list sesame and wheat. The retailer notified the producer, who then informed FSIS. (Food Safety and Inspection Service)

Health guidance - FSIS reports no confirmed adverse reactions to date. Anyone concerned about illness should contact a healthcare provider. If you have the product, do not consume it—discard it or return it to the place of purchase. (Food Safety and Inspection Service)

Allergen note: The “Sweet Heat” variety lists sesame and wheat as ingredients on the manufacturer’s product page—ingredients that must be declared on labeling for consumers’ safety. (Bianco & Sons
