Touch-a-Truck Returns to Murfreesboro with Helicopter, Boat, and Fire Engines

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Trucks, a helicopter, and even a boat will be on display at the annual Touch-a-Truck event, happening Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon at World Outreach Church on New Salem Highway in Murfreesboro. More than 20 vehicles will be available for families to explore, including construction and utility trucks, drones, an ambulance, fire engines, police vehicles, and more.

“There are multiple goals of this event,” said Murfreesboro Police Lt. Zach Ferrell, event coordinator. “The first is to educate the public about different types of vehicles. Secondly, this is a community outreach event to meet your local agencies that comprise the Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force and other local organizations. Lastly, this event is to encourage engagement with Rutherford County citizens, no matter the age."

The free event, sponsored by the Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force, will also feature food vendors on site.

Vehicles and Displays Include:

Families are encouraged to bring cameras and curiosity, as children will be able to climb into vehicles, meet first responders, and learn about safety in a hands-on way.
