UPDATE: Murfreesboro Firefighters Extinguish Garage Fire on James Drive; No Injuries Reported

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro Fire Rescue crews quickly extinguished a garage fire on James Drive Monday morning, September 29, 2025. The home is located just off Northfield Boulevard, behind Northfield Elementary School.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the garage and were able to bring the fire under control without it spreading to the rest of the house. No injuries were reported. Crews remained on scene to check for hotspots, while the Fire Marshal’s Office continues investigating the cause of the blaze.

During the incident, traffic on James Drive was temporarily halted while units worked the scene. Drivers were advised to use alternate routes until the roadway reopened.

Responding units included Ladder 6, Ladder 8, Ladder 1, Rescue 4, Battalion Chiefs 1 and 2, Squad 1, Squad 2, and the Fire Marshal’s Office.
