La Vergne Police Rescue Newborn, Arrest Suspect in Kidnapping Case

La Vergne, Tenn. — La Vergne Police officers demonstrated swift and coordinated teamwork during a recent emergency call involving a kidnapped newborn baby.

According to police, officers immediately responded to a report that a newborn had been taken. Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers gathered critical information about the suspect and the vehicle involved. While en route, another officer spotted the suspect’s car, initiated a traffic stop, and safely took the individual into custody.

The suspect now faces a charge of Especially Aggravated Kidnapping. Authorities confirmed that the infant was safely returned to the mother without injury.

In a statement shared on social media, the department praised the officers involved, writing:

“We’re thankful for the swift actions of our officers and their continued dedication to protecting our community. If you see something, say something—every detail helps us better serve and protect you.”

La Vergne Police continue to encourage residents to report suspicious activity, reminding the public that vigilance and communication remain key to keeping the community safe.
