The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrests 39-year-old Jamal Ewing in Marshall County following an alleged online solicitation of a minor investigation. Authorities say the case began after a tip from Minnesota involving contact through the gaming platform “Age of Apes.” Ewing was booked on a $6,000 bond and later released. The investigation remains active.

Murfreesboro Police are searching for a suspect accused of stealing roughly $10,000 in THC-A products from Galaxy Vape on South Church Street. Officers say the suspect threatened a clerk before fleeing with a backpack full of merchandise. Authorities are asking the public for tips.

La Vergne Fire & Rescue quickly contain a fire at the Tennessee Farmers Co-op on Old Nashville Highway. Crews located the blaze in a hopper connected to a grain silo system and brought it under control in about 25 minutes. No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.

A Davidson County Chancery Court ruling halts the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation from processing a vertical expansion request at the Middle Point Landfill. Rutherford County leaders are calling the decision a major victory in their ongoing opposition to landfill growth.

State Representative Mike Sparks introduces the “Fresh Food Affordability Act,” House Bill 2086, which would eliminate state and local sales tax on fresh fruits and vegetables. If passed, the measure would take effect July 1, 2026.
