MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — Emergency crews were called to a busy local intersection Monday night following reports of a vehicle engulfed in flames at a gas station.
Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) units arrived at the Thorntons station at the corner of Bridge Avenue and New Salem Highway, to find a large vehicle on fire. Personnel from Ladder 1, Rescue 9 and battalion chief were dispatched to the scene to manage the incident and prevent the blaze from spreading to the fuel pumps or nearby structures.
Officials confirmed that the vehicle was unoccupied at the time the fire broke out. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among civilians or first responders. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
