MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — Providence Christian Academy (PCA) has officially named veteran coach Marty Euverard as the new leader of its high school football program. In addition to his duties on the sidelines, Euverard is set to join the faculty as a Rhetoric teacher starting with the 2026–2027 academic term.
The decision comes after a rigorous recruitment cycle that saw a search committee vet over 50 prospective candidates. Following a period of interviews and internal deliberation, school officials identified Euverard as the choice to guide the Lions' athletic and spiritual development.
Euverard’s coaching resume spans more than three decades, including high-profile tenures at Montgomery Bell Academy, Battle Ground Academy, and Oakland High School. An alumnus of Middle Tennessee State University, he has been inducted into both the Tennessee High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the Oakland High School Hall of Fame. His career is marked by multiple state titles and various "Coach of the Year" accolades.
The move reunites Euverard with PCA’s current athletic leadership; he previously spent eight years working alongside Coach Lebron Ferguson at Oakland. School leadership emphasized that this existing rapport will help foster a cohesive, Christ-centered culture within the football program.
"After meeting with Dr. Andy Sheets and the leadership team, it was clear that PCA is a unique environment," Euverard stated. "The school's dedication to faith and high standards aligns perfectly with my personal values."
The Euverard family already maintains deep roots within the PCA community. His daughter, Megan Elam, serves as a teacher at the school, and five of his grandchildren are currently enrolled as students.
