MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - The road to the "Glass House" is officially paved for two local boys' basketball programs following high-stakes sectional matchups. The Blackman Blaze and Eagleville Eagles have both secured their positions in the TSSAA State Tournament, while the Oakland Patriots saw their postseason run conclude on the road.
Blaze Boys Stifle Ravenwood to Advance
The ninth-ranked Blackman Blaze earned their spot in the Class 4A bracket with a disciplined 41–33 defensive victory over the Ravenwood Raptors. WGNS brought the action to listeners live as the Primetime Sports team of Bryan Barrett and Jon Dinkins called the contest. Blackman (27-4) dictated the tempo from the opening tip-off, maintaining a lead throughout the entire game.
The offensive effort was spearheaded by Jayln McDonald, who posted 12 points, followed by Keller Jackson with 11 and Braden Flowers with nine.
The win marks Blackman’s ninth state appearance in the last 15 years and 10th overall, a dominant stretch that includes a 2014 state championship. Coach Barry Wortmam has carried the Blaze to nine of the 10 in the 2010's and 2020's. Their only other appearance was in 2004 under former Coach Kyle Turnham.
They are scheduled to face Whitehaven at MTSU’s Murphy Center on Thursday, March 19th at 9:30 a.m.

Undefeated Eagles Dominate Sectional Round
The top-ranked Eagleville boys extended their perfect season to 30–0 with a commanding 59–35 win over Perry County. This marks only the sixth time in the school’s century-long history that the program has reached the state tournament.
Camden Cole led all scorers with a 29-point performance, supported by 10 points from James Bega.
The Eagles return for the first time since 2019 under Head Coach Davy McClaran, who led the team to the semifinals that year. The McClaran family legacy continues this season; while his son Ryley was a standout on the 2019 squad, his son Owen is a key contributor to this year's undefeated run. In the school's over a century history, this will mark their sixth appearance. The first came in 1922 and 1923 then not again until 2001.
Eagleville now advances to the 1A quarterfinals on Thursday, March 19th at 4:00pm to face Pickett County—a team they bested twice during the regular season, including a narrow four-overtime thriller.

Patriots' Run Concludes at Brentwood
The season reached its finale for the Oakland Patriots in the Class 4A sectional. Traveling to face a potent Brentwood squad, the Patriots struggled to find their rhythm, ultimately dropping an 83–57 decision. Despite the loss, the Oakland boys end a season characterized by a deep postseason push and a turnaround season under first year head coach Tony Rutland.
