ANTIOCH, Tenn. — Metro Nashville Police homicide detectives are actively investigating the death of a woman whose last known address, according to court documents, was in Rutherford County. Police said in a news release that the victim was discovered inside an Antioch apartment over the weekend.
Authorities say 26-year-old Kierra Timmons was found Saturday morning inside an apartment on Brittany Park Drive, located in Antioch near the Davidson and Rutherford County line, just outside the city of La Vergne. Investigators believe Timmons may have been strangled to death, and early information suggests the killing may be connected to a domestic situation, though police have not released further details or identified any suspects at this time.
According to reports, concern about Timmons’ safety began late on March 14, when a friend contacted the victim’s sister around midnight and said she was worried about her well-being. The friend and sister of Kierra talked about contacting authorities to conduct a welfare check.
Police responded to the apartment where Timmons had previously told her sister she could be found if anything ever happened to her. Authorities said the victim had even left a hidden key for her sister, directing her to the apartment should she ever need to enter the unit.
When officers arrived to conduct the welfare check, they discovered Timmons’ lifeless body wrapped in a white blanket inside the apartment. Investigators said the discovery came just two days after she had celebrated her 26th birthday.
Prior to her death, Timmons’ last known address was listed at Rutherford Pointe Apartments in La Vergne, roughly 9.5 miles southeast of the Antioch apartment where she was found.
Metro Police say evidence gathered so far indicates the homicide may be tied to a domestic relationship, though the investigation remains ongoing and detectives have not yet announced any arrests.
