UPDATED: MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Murfreesboro Police have arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the homicide of a 35-year-old woman discovered inside a local mobile home community on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
The investigation began early that morning when officers were dispatched to 135 Fairfax Drive, located in a small mobile home community of approximately 12 to 15 residences just off Compton Road and near the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. Police were responding to a report of an unresponsive woman. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and found the woman deceased inside the mobile home.
Violent Crimes detectives responded to the scene and, after conducting an initial investigation, determined that the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death were consistent with a homicide.
As the investigation progressed, detectives identified Arthur Moore, 33, as a suspect. Patrol officers later located Moore and took him into custody without incident. He was subsequently transported to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, where he was formally charged with second-degree murder.
According to court records, Moore resides at the Vintage Gateway Apartments in Murfreesboro, located near Medical Center Parkway and Robert Rose Drive, within sight of The Avenue shopping area. That residence is approximately 6.5 miles south of the Fairfax Drive location where the victim was found.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
Moore’s criminal history includes prior arrests and convictions. Records show that on March 9, 2022, he was arrested on a domestic assault charge. In that case, he was found guilty and received a sentence of 11 months and 29 days, which was largely suspended in favor of supervised probation. As part of that sentence, he was required to complete a 12-hour anger management course.
In January 2023, Moore was arrested again and later found guilty of DUI second offense and evading arrest. Those convictions also resulted in additional supervised probation.
As of now, Arthur Moore is being held on a $1,970,000 bond. A court hearing in the case is scheduled for June 23, 2026, before Judge Ben Bennett.
The investigation into the homicide remains ongoing.
MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - Arthur Moore is being held on a staggering $1,970,000 bond—just shy of $2 million—after being charged with second‑degree murder in connection with the death of a woman found inside a mobile home on Fairfax Drive last week. A General Sessions Court hearing is set for June 23, 2026.
The case began unfolding early last Thursday (3/19/2026) when Murfreesboro Police were dispatched to 135 Fairfax Drive, a small mobile home community just off Compton Road and near the Alvin C. Detectives with MPD’s Violent Crimes Unit were called to the scene and, after a preliminary investigation, determined the circumstances surrounding her death were consistent with a homicide. That finding launched a fast‑moving effort to identify a suspect.
According to police, patrol officers were able to pinpoint Arthur Moore as a suspect and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center , where he was formally charged with second‑degree murder.
The nearly $2 million bond underscores the seriousness of the charge and the court’s decision to keep Moore in custody as the case proceeds. With a hearing now on the calendar for late June, investigators continue working through evidence and interviews to build out the timeline of what happened inside the Fairfax Drive home.
