UPDATE | Murfreesboro Police Arrest Armored Truck Robbery Suspect and Recover Cash

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Local law enforcement officials have successfully apprehended a key suspect in the robbery of an armored vehicle. Drew Edward Sisco, age 37, of Nashville currently faces multiple felony charges after investigators linked him to the April 8th attack at the Ascend Federal Credit Union on West Clark Boulevard.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, Sisco and an accomplice confronted a Loomis employee, using force to secure an undisclosed sum of money before fleeing the scene in a 2018 Nissan Armada.

The subsequent investigation relied heavily on modern technology and multi-agency cooperation. Crime data analysts utilized the Real Time Crime Center to track the vehicle via license plate readers and public safety cameras, even after the suspects attempted to evade detection by swapping license plates.

The pursuit of the SUV saw the suspects weaving through heavy traffic on major thoroughfares including I-24 and I-840. While the driver initially eluded capture near George Franklin Road, collaborative efforts between Murfreesboro detectives and Metro Nashville Police led to Sisco's arrest the following day. Sisco is currently held on a $300,000 bond as the search for the second suspect remains a top priority for local investigators.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Detectives with the Murfreesboro Police Department are actively investigating a daytime robbery that targeted an armored truck outside a local credit union Wednesday morning. The situation led to the driver of the financial truck being attacked and later, a police pursuit that took authorities to I-840 (Scroll down for more on this developing news story)...

The incident occurred around 10:49 a.m. at Ascend Federal Credit Union on West Clark Boulevard. According to authorities, two suspects arrived at the location in a dark-colored Nissan Pathfinder and were armed with firearms.

Police say the suspects approached an armored truck positioned at the ATM and assaulted the armed security guard before taking an undisclosed amount of cash. The individuals then fled the scene in the SUV.

Officers later located the suspected getaway vehicle on Old Fort Parkway. When police attempted to follow, the driver sped away, leading officers onto Interstate 24 and eventually onto Interstate 840 in the direction of Smyrna. Authorities lost sight of the vehicle shortly thereafter.

The department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is continuing to investigate the robbery. No additional suspect descriptions have been released at this time.

Police are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact authorities as the investigation remains ongoing.
