MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) units were kept busy Sunday afternoon as they battled a residential structure fire on Bradyville Pike. The call, which came in during the afternoon hours, prompted a significant response from the city’s emergency services.

Upon arrival, crews from Engine 3 reported heavy smoke and flames showing from both the roofline and the sides of the single-family dwelling. Firefighters immediately transitioned into an offensive attack, deploying hose lines to combat the exterior flames before moving inside to ensure the fire had not spread further into the attic or adjacent rooms.

Thanks to the quick response and coordinated efforts of the multiple units on the scene, the fire was brought under control quickly. Officials confirmed that all occupants of the home had safely evacuated before the first fire engines arrived. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the residents or the firefighting personnel.

A total of eleven units responded to the scene, including Engines, Ladder companies, Rescue units, and District Chiefs. Specifically, units E3, L1, L2, R4, BC1, BC2, S1, S2, R1, Car 131, and Car 136 were all staged at the Bradyville Pike location to assist with fire suppression and overhaul operations.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Investigators with the Murfreesboro Fire Marshal’s Office are currently conducting a routine investigation to identify where and how the fire started.
