The incident occurred near the intersection of New Salem Highway and Veterans Parkway. Preliminary evidence indicates that 44-year-old Joshua Dodson was struck by a vehicle operated by a 21-year-old female driver.
Emergency responders from Rutherford County Medical Services arrived shortly after the impact to provide aid. Dodson was rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical staff later pronounced him deceased. Officials confirmed the driver involved in the crash did not sustain any physical injuries.
