MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - A Murfreesboro Police drone pilot helped officers capture a man accused of shooting into a home with several people inside.
The incident happened Wednesday night in the 2200 block of Patriot Drive. Police say 19-year-old Dasilas Carter fired multiple shots into the residence following a verbal argument. During that fight, witnesses claim Carter slammed a woman to the floor which caused minor injuries to her hands and knees. No one was hit by the gunfire.
The Murfreesboro Police Department Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team launched a drone and quickly located Carter near the scene. Officers moved in and arrested him without further incident. Carter now faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He also faces a charge for violating a protective order.
Carter is being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $1,005,000 bond. He has a hearing scheduled in General Sessions Court on June 17th. The Violent Crimes Unit continues to investigate the shooting.
