RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WGNS News) - The VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) will host celebratory activities this Friday, June 12, to commemorate Women Veterans Recognition Day. These complimentary functions aim to appreciate the distinct contributions made by female military personnel, welcoming families and caregivers alike. While most of those within the WGNS local listening area will head to the events scheduled to take place at the VA in Murfreesboro, programming is also slated to take place roughly 100 miles southeast of us at the Chattanooga VA Clinic in Hamilton County.

Across the Volunteer State, official data shows that over 50,000 women have served in uniform, and TVHS currently provides specialized medical attention to more than 15,000 of these individuals.

Gathering Locally: The resource fair unfolding at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro is expected to bring lots of activities to local individuals.
