MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Murfreesboro will bring the community together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and continue the fight against cancer on Friday, June 12, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Oaklands Mansion Park.
The annual event, themed “Decades of Hope,” will feature family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food vendors, team fundraisers, and opportunities to honor those affected by cancer. Community members are invited to attend and support the American Cancer Society’s mission to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support services.
Leading this year’s event is Chairwoman Denise Bond, whose courage and determination have inspired many throughout the community. While currently battling cancer, Bond continues dedicating her time and energy to Relay For Life and its mission, embodying the hope, strength, and resilience the event represents.
“Relay For Life is about hope, support, and reminding those facing cancer that they are not alone,” said Bond. “Together, we can celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost, and continue the fight for a world without cancer.”
Special moments throughout the evening will include the Survivors Celebration and the Luminaria Ceremony, where candles are illuminated in memory of loved ones lost to cancer and in honor of those currently battling the disease or celebrating survivorship.
Relay For Life is open to the public, and admission is free. Cancer survivors are encouraged to attend and participate in activities planned in their honor.
Funds raised through Relay For Life support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to provide patient services, fund groundbreaking research, and advance programs focused on cancer prevention and treatment.
Oaklands Mansion Park is located at 900 N. Maney Ave. in Murfreesboro.
