MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Local musicians are tuning up to help Rutherford County celebrate a major milestone in American history. The Center for the Arts and the Tennessee Philharmonic Wind Orchestra invite residents to the "Patriotic Review" concert on Thursday, July 2nd, at 7:00 p.m.. The event marks America's 250th anniversary.
The Tennessee Philharmonic Wind Orchestra will play traditional marches and patriotic favorites. The playlist includes well-known classics like "The Star-Spangled Banner," "America the Beautiful," and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". The performance will also include musical tributes to honor American veterans and active military members.
Three local students from the Center for the Arts Vocal Academy will share the stage with the orchestra. Maya Nicole Burt, Anna Vogler, and Catherine Glidwell will perform as guest vocalists.
Center for the Arts Executive Director Regina Ward says the partnership highlights the strong community spirit and artistic talent in Murfreesboro. Ward notes that the concert gives families a meaningful way to celebrate freedom and service through music.
