La Vergne High School Senior Jade Lawson, age 17, was crowned as 2014 Miss La Vergne during the Miss La Vergne Pageant on Saturday, September 6. She was awarded the queen title during the fourth annual pageant held Saturday at LHS. Jade is the daughter of Angelique Lawson.
Judges scored contestants individually (rather than "comparison" judging) in six categories, including personality, confidence, eye contact and smile, response to interview question, stage presentation, and overall appearance.
Alexzandria Johnson, 14-year old 9th grade student at LHS, received the People's Choice Award for the Miss La Vergne Pageant.
"All the young ladies participating this year were absolutely wonderful. They were smart, well-spoken, and had great pesonalities," said Mayor Senna Mosley. "We had such fun with all the girls and I am incredibly proud of every single one of them who had to courage to participate."
