The victim put $2,800 on a Green Dot gift card and quickly called the con artist back. He gave the caller the account number on the card and now he is out $2,800.

The man later called Murfreesboro Electric to inquire about the payment and was told he had been scammed. Police were called, but no arrests have been made. This is the second such incident in the past 3 days.
