Another Sobriety Checkpoint Nearing for Rutherford County Drivers

Drivers will be checked for drinking and driving during a Sobriety Checkpoint from 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 to 1 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 in Walter Hill, a Rutherford County Sheriff’s supervisor said.

Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Smyrna and LaVergne Police will check drivers at U.S. Highway 231 North (Lebanon Highway), said Capt. Egon Grissom .

The officers will be trying to reduce the amount of traffic fatalities and injuries by keeping drinking drivers off the roads.

This project is funded under an agreement with the State of Tennessee ’s Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
