Are you a ham radio operator? If you are, would you be interested in serving our community during times of weather emergencies and other disaster related events?

You should attend the monthly meeting of the Stones River Amateur Radio Club and learn how the Rutherford County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) helps this community during natural disasters and other emergencies.

Retired US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Dan Epright (KM4WSX) invites interested persons to the meet at 6:30 Thursday (6/15/2017) night for food and fellowship at the Sylvan Park Restaurant at 1443 NW Broad Street. This is the same restaurant in which WGNS broadcasts the Truman Show on weekday mornings.

Epright said, "Plans for the club's participation in the ARRL Field Day on the weekend of June 24-25, 2017 will be finalized." In addition, this is the organization that has been in charge of communications during the Murfreesboro Christmas Parade for the pas5t 30-plus years.

He notes that if you have questions, drop him an e-mail at eprightd@earthlink.net.
