Murfreesboro Police helped a stranded motorist push their vehicle off the roadway and later arrested the subject who, according to a police report, smelled like marijuana. The incident occurred on Middle Tennessee Boulevard.

39-Year old Durroccus Harris told police that he ran out of gas, which is why his vehicle stalled. Once police got the car into a parking lot, the helpful officer asked about the odor of marijuana. Harris told police that he had marijuana in his pocket. Police then searched the subject and found not one, but two baggies of the green leafy plant. To make matters worse, the incident was within 1,000 feet of Reeves Rogers Elementary School, which is a drug free zone.

While speaking to officers, "Mr. Harris admitted that he sold marijuana due to child care." A search of the suspects cellphone seemed to back his own statement. Vice Officers seized over $700 that was in his possession at the time of the arrest.

Harris will appear in court to face a single charge of "Felony Possession of a Schedule Six Drug." He is currently free on bond.
