Arrest made in parking lot note allegedly asking about sex in Smyrna

Last week the Smyrna Police Department requested the public’s assistance in finding out who had entered a female’s vehicle in the Kroger parking lot on Sam Ridley Parkway and left a disturbing note. The suspect allegedly left a note in the woman’s vehicle asking her to engage in sexual activity.

Over the weekend, the Smyrna Police Department received information from the public which led to Morris J. Nickels, 72 years of age, of Smyrna. According to Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold, Nickels was interviewed and confessed to leaving the note.

Mr. Nickels was charged with Harassment and has a court date of September 23rd in Smyrna General Sessions Court. The case is still under investigation and more charges may be brought against Nickels in the future date.
