A small fire in the breezeway of a local motel has ended with an arrest in Murfreesboro.

A security video allegedly captured a man setting fire to a linen cart at America's Best Value Inn on South Church Street and then run into room 161.

When police arrived, suspect Joshua Dion Spain was questioned by police. According to a report, the subject in the video was dressed like 19 year old Spain and happened to run to the motel room where Spain was staying. Furthermore, the police report showed that the suspect was said to have "walked the same" as Spain who has Cerebral Palsy.

Spain later admitted to police and fire personal that he did start the fire in the breezeway and also caught a mattress on fire that was in the motel dumpster.

The Murfreesboro man was charged with "Setting Fire to Personal Property" and will be in court this May.

As of Tuesday night, Spain remained behind bars with a $10,000 bond.
