If your child plans to attend kindergarten at a Murfreesboro City School, you need to register the youngster on Thursday, May 8th, during regular school hours and continuing until 5:00 in the afternoon. There is a second day, Friday, May 9th, will only be during regular school hours. 

City Schools

Murfreesboro City Schools will begin the 2014-15 school year with twelve schools including: Black Fox, Bradley Academy, Cason Lane, Discovery School, Hobgood, John Pittard, Mitchell-Neilson, Northfield, Overall Creek, Reeves-Rogers, Scales and Erma Siegel.

Parents should register their new students at their 2014-15 zoned school. Overall Creek students will register at Scales Elementary. Reeves-Rogers students will register at John Pittard Elementary.

What To Bring

Parents should bring the child’s birth certificate, Tennessee Department of Health Certification of Immunization, and verification of address.

Kindergarten Age

Children entering kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year shall
be five (5) years of age on or before August 15. Students that attended a state approved
preschool during 2013-2014 school year and are five (5) years of age on or before
August 30 are also eligible to attend.
