Fake $20 bills continue to circulate Murfreesboro. The most recent report was filed by a non-profit on Memorial Blvd.
Reports indicate a white male who appeared to be in his mid-twenties entered the Goodwill store next to the MAC fitness center and tried to purchase about $12 worth of merchandise. The clerk questioned the bill and the man appeared to become nervous. Instead of sticking around, the subject fled the store on foot.
Police were able to confiscate the bogus money because he left it behind. The phony cash was turned into the evidence room at the Murfreesboro Police Department.
So far, the source of the money has not been tracked down.
