Occupy Murfreesboro on M'boro Square - Pictures, Sound, and Video

The Murfreesboro unit of the Occupy Wall Street movement occupied the downtown square Friday afternoon.  The goal of the group is to show support of Occupy Wall Street.  A crowd of about a hundred gathered at 11am, and by 1:30pm, were moving, signs in hand, on a marching tour of the square's three big banks, Regions, Suntrust, and Bank of America.  Words like "unfair", "disgusting", and "painful" were common adjectives used by the crowd, who related such sad stories as seeing realtors giving "forclosure tours", and accused officials on Wall Street of robbery without a gun.  On the media's criticism that the Occupy movement is too vague and lacks a defined set of demands or greivances, listeners are urged to review the official Occupy declaration at NYCGA.net/resources/declaration.  Organizers say there are no plans to camp out tonight, as they have for similar protests across the country, but that Occupy Murfreesboro intends to explore that action in the future, once the safe and legal means to do so have been layed out.  To get involved, visit OccupyTogether.org.  Please continue to check back with us as we strive to keep you informed.
